Oilseeds are mainly used to produce vegetable oil and oilseed meal which are used to produce food fats, oil products and animal feed. Oilseeds form a substantial part of the agricultural commodities traded worldwide. Total consumption of oilseeds in 2012 was close to 390 MMT and increasing YoY.
The Oil extracted from the seeds are put to various uses both for human consumption and for industrial uses depending on the grade of the oil.
